Channeling inspiration from Alistair Humphreys’ Microadventures, and while we wait for when we are able to head off on our full-sized adventure, we have challenged ourselves to try to do something adventurous at least once each week.

Today we joined my little brother Adam, who is back home on a COVID-pause from his own sail & surf adventures (see here & most recently here), for a short sail down the coast. The noon sun was hot as we left St Peter Port and headed a few km south to Petit Port beach where we dropped anchor and spent a lazy few hours, eating a picnic, catching up with each other, and snorkeling in crystal waters. Ok, so I’m not certain that lazing around in the sun for an afternoon would really meet Alistair’s definition of adventure but as this was Lucy’s first time snorkeling and my first time sailing in too many years I hope that we might just get away with it.
